We had a great first week of school in Grade 1! Students have settled in very well to their new grade one classroom. We have a wonderful group of 18 children in our class and it didn't take long for friends to become re-acquainted with one another and for new friendships to form. I am very impressed at how quickly they have embraced their new classroom community and adapted to new routines. That being said, you may notice your child coming home quite tired for the first few days and or weeks of school as they adjust to the schedules and routines that do not include a quiet/nap time as in kindergarten. Students also attended the first school assembly where Mrs. MacPhee welcomed everyone and reviewed important information about school rules and the importance of respecting one another at Georges Vanier on a daily basis.
A big thank you to all of you for the generous supply of kleenex boxes, ziploc bags, glue sticks, etc that you have sent in for our classroom. It is very much appreciated. Thank you also for providing information about your child on the forms that were sent home and for returning other paper work required by the office.

We have a nut allergy in our classroom. We ask that you please ensure that no items containing nut products are sent in. Thank you in advance for helping to keep our classroom safe!Agendas:
Please be sure to check and initial the agendas each night. It is important that you check for information being sent home from the school. As well, please use the agenda to let us know if your son or daughter will be picked up for an appointment or picked up at the end of the day if they usually take the bus. If your child is being picked up that day, we ask that you pick them up at the front of the bus loading zone where all walkers and bussers are dismissed and not at the front office. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please feel free to write me a note or leave a message for me at the office. I will not be using email but I will respond in writing or call you.
