Faith in Practice

Practising our Catholic Faith at School

We celebrate our Faith in many ways during the day:

1.   We say a prayer to start our day and before meals.  We thinking about people that we want to pray for and share our intentions for God’s blessing.

2.  We attend monthly assemblies, liturgies, and masses where we come together with other students to celebrate   our faith, seasonal events (Christmas, Easter etc) and our successes as students in a Catholic School.

3.  We learn about the Catholic virtues by reading and discussing stories about the life of Jesus.

4.  We explore the curriculum in "In God's Image" through stories, activities and discussions.

5.  We are encouraged to act in a way that is kind, loving, and supportive to others in our school community.

Prayer to Begin Our Day
By Kim Weber

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for
This brand new day.
Bless us as
Work and play.
Help us be patient,
Loving, and kind,
And to share with each other
 Our hearts and our minds.
 Help us to listen,
To learn and have fun!
We ask you to bless us
Each day in Grade One!

Amen

Prayer to End our Day

God, our Father, we come to say,
Thank you for your love today.
Thank you for my family
And all the friends you give to me.
Watch over me at home tonight,
And in the morning, send your light.
Amen

Lunch Prayer

Thank you God, for giving us love.
Thank you God, for giving us life.
Thank you God for giving us love
Right from our hearts.

Thank you God, for birds that sing,
Thank you God, for everything.
Thank you God, for giving us love,
Right from our hearts.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day
Our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those
Who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen

Angel of God

Angel of God,
My guardian dear
To whom God's love
Commits me here
Ever this day be at my side
To light and guard
To rule and guide
Amen

Hail Mary
Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women
And blessed is the fruit
Of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God
Pray for us sinners
Now, and at the hour of our death
Amen

In love each one is unique and precious;
Each one has his or her place;
Each one receives and each one gives;
Each one has a grateful heart.
There are no more barriers;
Each delights in the other,
Each is a delight for the other
Because in each one is seen the face of God.
