Monday, February 20th: Family Day! No school
On Thursday, last week, we participated in a hands-on workshop on structures. Students learned about some simple machines and their names and then went to work construction their own playground of structures: a roundabout, a slide, and a seesaw. We even learned a little bit about fasteners in the process which is something we will be looking at in the days ahead.
We have been listening to a variety of musical pieces and responding to it by drawing what we see and what we feel. We have visualized a "bottom of the sea garden" in Octopus's Garden, anda "floating zoo" in The Unicorn Song. This week we also listened to Vivaldi-s Four Seasons and we responded to music without lyrics. We are learning that responding to music with drawing is relaxing and fun!
Students also performed their 2-bar compositions which were featured on the smartboard. Each composer performed their musical composition and then all joined in.
