Family Movie Night Reminder:

Please join us this Thursday, Nov 17th ( Friday is a PD Day) for the premiere of  FINDING DORY at GV!!

Remembrance Day:
Last week, our class had a very good discussion about Remembrance Day  and the poppy. We talked about how we wear a poppy to remember the soldiers and we learned a poem about the poppy. We had our Remembrance Day Ceremony and the children were very respectful! They sang O'Canada and they stood as soldiers, something we practise every morning when we sing O'Canada in the classroom.

Anti-Bullying Week:
This week is 'Anti-Bullying Week' at Georges Vanier Catholic School.  Throughout the week the students have been participating in lessons and activities that further their awareness and understanding of what bullying is and how to deal with bullying.
The goals of the lessons have been to:
-help students to better understand what bullying is by recognizing bullying behaviours
-teach students what happens to those who bully others as well as what happens to those that are bullied
-build a better understanding of how bullying affects everyone in the school
-provide positive and proactive strategies to students in order to help them deal with bullying
-promote love and kindness through the sharing of prayers and Gospel passages in order to deepen their understanding of how our Catholic faith calls us to deal with bullying.
